Classes for Instructors
Red Cross Instructor and Instructor Trainer Resources
There are Instructor level courses for all of the American Red Cross courses. Every Red Cross Instructor course includes multiple hours of course instruction, role-play and teach-back instruction. Instructor-level courses are taught on a limited basis. Please contact the chapter directly for current instructor course information or to be added to a waiting list. Individuals are also encouraged to check with neighboring Red Cross chapters for available instructor courses. Red Cross instructor training can be provided by any American Red Cross chapter and will be recognized by any American Red Cross chapter.
Fundamentals of Instructor Training (FIT)
Fundamentals of Instructor Training (FIT) is a pre-requisite for any Red Cross instructor course. FIT is intended to introduce instructor candidates to the history, structure and activities of the American Red Cross; prepare the candidates to teach American Red Cross specialty courses to diverse populations; and to introduce the candidates to the policies and procedures of the American Red Cross to ensure course consistency, quality and appropriate reporting.
