Berkshire County AIDS Walk and Rally 2006
Saturday, September 16th
The HIV/AIDS Program of the American Red Cross and the Berkshire AIDS Coalition will once again team up to co-sponsor the local AIDS Walk. Some important changes have taken place in preparation for this year’s walk which we hope will be helpful in recruiting more walkers.
The walk has been shortened to one mile in an effort to allow individuals who previously have not been able to participate due to physical ailments the opportunity to join in support of this cause. The walk will leave the Common on First Street and proceed down North Street to Park Square where we’ll have representatives from local and state governments present as well as to hear from local individuals who are living with HIV/AIDS in our community.
Upon our return to the Common, there will be a barbeque for all participants as well as entertainment by local musicians. All visitors to the Common will be able to learn about the 2 programs as well as some of the other HIV services provided in Berkshire County. As always, the walkers will have an opportunity to have a free massage courtesy of the students of Mildred Elley.
Needed are walkers, sponsors, and volunteers. If you would like more information or would like to register to walk or volunteer, please email or call Pat Wood at 442-1506 ext. 20.
