National DSHR Volunteers Needed

Disaster Services Human Relation Volunteers are needed to assist with disasters both locally and nationally. The Red Cross has both local and national volunteers trained and ready to respond to disasters throughout the nation.

Opportunities Include:

Sheltering, food distribution, individual client services, assisting clients with financial needs, client casework, bulk distribution, staff support, mental health services, disaster assessment, technology support, and the list goes on.

Qualifications:

To qualify to become a DSHR Volunteer you must:

Be 18 years of age
Hold valid drivers license
Have a social security number
Hold current CPR and First Aid certificate
High school diploma

The local chapter will provide any disaster training and or CPR/First Aid instruction needed.

DSHR Volunteers must be willing to travel within a few days notice for three week assignments. Long hours are required in sometimes adverse conditions. Volunteers will be provided with food, shelter, Red Cross attire and travel.
