Open House for Military Families in Berkshire County
Do you have a loved one who is deployed to Iraq or Afghanistan? Does your neighbor?
The Military Family Support Group of the Berkshire Red Cross will host an Open House for local families who have deployed loved ones in the U.S. Armed Forces. It will be held at the American Red Cross Chapter House, 480 West St., Pittsfield on Monday, May 9th from 6-7 PM.
The Berkshire County Chapter of the American Red Cross connects military families in Berkshire County through their support group. A forum is provided where military families can communicate with each other, express concerns, ask questions and share feelings and emotions about the unique challenges they're facing while their loved one is deployed.
We strive to help families left behind feel supported and less isolated during this difficult time. Many of the members have said that they had no one else to turn to who understood how they felt. Having someone to talk to who understands what you're going through can make a big difference.
If you know of a military family in Berkshire County, please tell them about us. It just might make a difference in their life. For more information, call Kate Hubley at (413) 442-1506.
