Red Cross Schedules Daytime Adult CPR and First Aid Courses
The Berkshire County Chapter of the American Red Cross is offering two daytime Adult CPR and First Aid courses in addition to the usual evening schedule of course offerings. According to Michael P. Murphy, coordinator of heath and safety services, the chapter is responding to an increased demand for daytime courses. “We are doing a bit more marketing of the daytime course because it is a new option and we want the community to know it is available,” Murphy said.
The first daytime course will be held from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. on February 11, 2005. The second course will be held from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. on March 8, 2005. Both courses will be held at the Red Cross at 480 West Street in Pittsfield. The cost of the course is $45.00 per person and includes all course materials including certificates of completion. Adult CPR (9 yrs of age and older) certification is valid for one year and First Aid Basics certification is valid for three years.
The chapter continues to provide First Aid, CPR, Automated External Defibrillation and Bloodborne Pathogens training tailored to the particular needs of local workplaces and other groups or organizations throughout Berkshire County.
“It costs a bit more but our workplace training programs are designed to meet the particular training requirements and scheduling needs of local businesses and other groups in Berkshire County,” Murphy noted.
